About Zachary (& Reggie)

Adopted by Jessica & Eric

Zachary (and Reggie) MUST be adopted together. There are NO exceptions. See Reggie here .

This is the story of two underweight shelter kittens who rescue brought together. All alone in the shelter, this little kitten Zach was half a pound when he should have been a whole pound. He had a cold and wasn’t eating. He was super loving. We syringe fed him for a whole week and he maintained but did not gain weight. Finally, he got the idea and then he ate and ate and ate on his own. He gained a pound in the next two weeks. We breathed a sigh of relief. He was excessively cute. He wanted so much to play with a kitty but the ones he met either licked him to death or got mad because he thought their tails were toys.

We kept our eyes open for a friend for him. About three weeks later we found Reggie who was 2 months older than Zach but also unthrifty and underweight. When his cold was gone – a long two weeks of isolation- we put him in with Zachary and that was it. They were inseparable ever after. Always in contact, sleeping on top of each other. We noticed they amazingly kept in touch with their front toes. While lying near each other they both would keep their toes touching the toes of the other, very deliberately. They have a very special connection. Big brother and little brother.

These two are now brilliantly healthy kittens. What distinguishes them is not only their devotion to each other shown in their constant cuddles but also their easy-going love of everyone and everything. They love other cats, they love all the humans they have met and would probably enjoy friendly dogs and even young (respectful)children. They are so trusting, grateful perhaps, that their lives got better. I do believe rescued cats feel gratitude. These two red boys are treasures and I expect everyone will want them… and who wouldn’t? Please forgive me if I don’t manage to respond to all the inquiries about them.

Zach and Reggie are classic kittens, playful and curious. Zach is a little squirt full of fun. Reggie is a bit dreamier. Some family will be so lucky to have their companionship and soft bodies to hold. Do you see how they relax in the arms of whomever is holding them? Such a pleasure.

Zach and Reggie eat wet and dry food and are litterbox perfect.

Their foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Zachary is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Zachary (and Reggie) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
