About The Snowman

Born ~12/2016, M, White Persian

This boy was found sitting patiently outside a family’s door. How did that happen? No one came forward for him. Taken to the shelter he was super matted they gave him a rough shave. When Purebreds was asked if we could take him of course I said yes immediately.

Snowman is very much a Persian. He lives for the times when humans touch him. Look how he holds on to a cuddler’s arm with his front paws. The shelter thought he was about 5 years old though we think he is likely to be younger. He has a kitten in him, he is rambunctious and full of zip, not the classic sleep on the couch Persian. The only time he slows down is when he is getting petted and then he stops all else and just melts. He is wonderful.

He seems to be a very healthy boy. He was combo tested negative for FIV and FeLV. At some point in the distant past he was hit on the right side of his head. The pupil of his right eye is a little out of its round shape. We took him to the eye vet who told us that this eye was fine the way it is. Nothing to worry about, nothing to do. After being hit she said it healed and recovered with “adhesions”, which means parts of the eye- the cornea and iris etc grew back together a little off kilter. He has partial vision in that eye and perfect vision in his other. Sometimes the irregularity quite obvious and other times it is hard to see. The pupil doesn’t close as much in bright light as the other does and you can see the difference then.(Note Some photos below have been reversed so right and left are reversed.- sorry )

His coat will grow in soon and he will look more The Snowman he is . Look at the pompom on the end of his tail to get an idea of his big soft coat. Snow is lucky to have a lowered nose and he breathes well through it. His little nose is a pink heart shape. He is litterbox perfect

He is a lot of fun. He likes other cats but he prefers humans at all times. He gets along with non dominant kitties especially females. The hormones affected by neutering are still diminishing in him. We have one male Persian who gets into spats with him. They are both dominant cats. I would not suggest a home ruled by another dominant kitty of either gender. I don’t know how he is with dogs. He needs a house that is not too quiet and one with older children would be great. He needs entertainment. Snow wants to be with his humans so his family needs to be home a lot not out working all day only to see him in the evening.

Some family will be so lucky.

The Snowman is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet food, and eats dry food.

He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for The Snowman please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
