About Sweet Pea
Adopted by Brittany and Sam
I usually say “Persians tend to be couch potatoes”. They are not known as high-energy, play monsters. This little Black and White cutie is still a kitten so she cannot be fairly compared to a lazy adult. However, she is so active and talkative and full of curiosity and zip I think even when she is grown she will be the exception that proves the Persian rule. Sweet Pea wants everything. She wants to follow you around. She wants to get in all your closets and explore your fascinating dishwasher. Pea loves to talk to you with her rather funny low alto meow voice ( no squeeks for her) She has a lot to say. She is really fun.
We found her in a Central Valley shelter which is not a safe place for any kitty, much less a little baby Persian. When she arrived Sweet Pea was thin, scrungy, scraggly, and in need of a bath. Her four white feet showed she had walked often through valley dust. Pea’s life clearly had not been a bed of roses. Now she scarfs down all sorts of good food, her coat is growing in shiny and thick, and she is clearly happy and growing bigger. She is still a kitten and has a lot of growing to do but she is now spayed and is raring for everything which includes going to her new home. She is so full of personality and fun.
Pea would be a great family cat- she sort of has the personality people attribute to Maine Coons. I expect she would be fine with children older than toddlers. She seems fine with other cats. I don’t know how she is with dogs but I expect she has met them before. If you don’t like having conversations with your cat she is probably the wrong kitty for you. If you are gone all day at work and want to come home to a kitty companion waiting for you she is the wrong cat for you.
Sweet Pea needs lots of attention, company, and companionship- children, aunts uncles, grandparents. All these playmates would be fine with her. As she grows up into an adult I expect she will make a great hostess for your social gatherings.
Some family will be so lucky to have the companionship and entertainment she brings.
Sweet Pea eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
Sweet Pea is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
