About Gnocchi

Vestibular Issues – Head Tilt Plus

Gnocchi is an adorable little Seal Point Siamese who is about 6 months old.  She is affectionate and just wants to feel better so she can find a loving forever home.

Gnocchi was in a terrible hoarding situation.  We were able to get the owner to surrender her and her siblings directly to us. Gnocchi, and her siblings, were treated for severe ear infections on intake. They were only 8 weeks old. After a couple of months of treatment her sibling’s ears were cleared up; her ears were not getting any better.

Then the unthinkable happened!  She suddenly started exhibiting vestibular symptoms her head was tilting to the left, she was losing her balance, and she was also spinning in circles and vomiting! We rushed her to the emergency vet. Her left ear drum had ruptured, spreading the infection into her inner ear. She was immediately put on antibiotics in hopes of clearing the infection. We thought this treatment would take care of the issue. It did not.  She continues to have issues.

We brought Gnocchi to the vet multiple times over the months of treatments. The vet indicated the best solution left was a CT Scan of her head. This allows the vet to identify where the fluid is, remove it and then culture it.  We can then determine what type of infection it is and treat it appropriately. We need to help get this special girl back on her feet!

We, at Purebreds Plus, have taken Gnocchi under our wing. The good news, yes there is good news, PPCR is not giving up on her!
