About Sissy
Born ~3/2020, F, Seal Point Siamese
Sissy is a very beautiful “work in progress.” She has stunning blue eyes and a lovely plush coat. She’s a tiny little thing and may be as young as six months.
She came to rescue with two other seal point Siamese youngsters. All three of these cats were terrified and literally climbing the walls when they got here. They were each placed in a Cat Acclimation and Gentling Environment in order to socialize them without further traumatizing them. One of the three, Charmers, has made great progress and has advanced from his special habitat into free roam of the house. Sissy was more frightened and angry when she got to rescue so she’s still in her habitat but we expect her to have the same type of turnaround as Charmers did.
On 12/12/2020 Sissy had a great breakthrough in her socialization when she allowed “foreign touch.” Her foster mom has a special feather toy that she uses to socialize and Sissy was used to having that in her space for human/cat play. This time, foster mom used the feather wand to pet the side of Sissy’s face and she loved it. She loved it so much that she walked around making sure her foster mom could pet her all over. Now Sissy knows that when the feather toy comes near, petting will soon follow. With this realization, she hisses less and engages more. The funny thing is that when Sissy turns her back, foster mom starts scratching her with her hands and Sissy just loves it. Hopefully, she will soon figure out that human hands are OK and welcome direct human touch.
Sissy loves other cats and should be in a home with at least one other friendly cat. Ideally, she could go to a home with her presumed brother, Charmers. She probably won’t do well in a home with small children or those inexperienced with cats.
Sissy needs a home with an adopter that is willing to work with her over a period of weeks or months to help her become a more confident, well socialized companion.
Sissy is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She currently lives with her foster family in Vacaville.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Sissy please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Ellen F. at thefawls@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Ellen F. please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
