About Maggie
Adopted by Susan
What could be better than a kitty who stares straight at the camera and holds still? Maggie is happy to pose and made her photographer’s job easy. She surrendered to a shelter by a man who was moving and Maggie arrived looking a bit tattered. She is very allergic to fleas and had scratched off much of her fur in response to that itchiness, leaving her torso looking rather beige. She was frazzled to distraction and anxious, poor thing, and a bit thin. Life had not been going well for her.
Maggie settled in well with us, showing what a good-natured, happy kitty she really is. She is a very fine-boned kitty; her body style is long lines with slender elegance. You can see she has delicate, super long legs and an endless tail. She weighs about 7 pounds which I think is maybe a pound light for her. She eats well and is a healthy girl. She has had a recent dental. We feed her a variety of wet and dry foods that she loves, but, to her dismay, we give her none with chicken.
As the photographs show, she can be held easily in one arm, and she loves that closeness. Maggie will curl up under your chin almost like a kitten and be happy to stay there. She is super cuddly and affectionate. Comfortable around other cats, she is pretty much happy to ignore them. Mostly she wants to be with her humans and she would be happy to follow you around as you do your chores and watch tv late into the night with you. She is not a good choice for an owner who is away from home much of the time. I don’t know how she is with dogs.
Maggie is not a diva, but she is an elegant Princess, stepping so lightly over her world, her feet hardly touching the ground when she runs. After the destruction of her coat from her flea allergy and poor care, her hair is growing in. Now her rosettes show again, and today we saw her hair glitter in the sun for the first time. With her graceful lines, she is an unusual beauty. How great it will be to see her when her coat is completely restored.
What an elegant loving companion she will be for some lucky person or couple.
Maggie eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
Maggie is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
