About Little
Born ~2015, M, Brown Tabby Persian
Adoption Fee: $300
Folks who have had Persians know that it is their great need for love from humans that makes them so special. I am a huge Persian lover and I have often said that Persians (and Himalayans) are “intimate” with their humans. Their love is so personal – they need how much their humans need them. I say they usually don’t have a lot of menu options, loving and cuddling is their reason for being. Because of the vulnerability of their little hearts, I always feel they must be protected and treasured.
Well, life doesn’t always cooperate and unexpected things happen. This kitty, Little, has come into rescue because his mom who loved him so much had a bad stroke and will not be able to care for him for months, if ever. She surrendered him and he was transported to us just a few days ago. With his beautiful copper eyes and snuffly nose, he is a classic, tender Persian boy. All he wants is to be loved and comforted. This disruption of his life has, of course, been super hard on him. He has also been picking up the fear and upset of his mom and the folks around her. Four of us were love-bombing him and grooming him yesterday and pulling little snarls off his legs and other tender spots and he just loved it all. Eight hands were fine with him. He likes being brushed, combed, and fussed over.
Probably because he is quite small his mom named him Wee. Uncomfortable with the bathroom connotations of that word we have temporarily renamed him Little. He is a good weight and seems very healthy. His eyes are a bit watery but that is a Persian trait. Today someone who was feeding him saw him pull out some of his hair with his teeth. This is a sign of stress. We put a sweater on him (so cute). This “barbering,” as it is called, made me decide to post him tonight to find his new home. This is much sooner than usual but the sooner he has a human or humans and a new home the better for him.
Little has lived with three dogs. I am not sure of their sizes. He is certainly cat-friendly as he has lived with 4 other cats, 2 of whom have also gone to rescue. Other cats are fine but he cares most about his human(s). Perhaps his new home will have a number of people: children, relatives, in-laws. All that would be fine with him. Or he could be the only pet of a person who was home and had lots of time and need for him.
Some person or family will be extra lucky to have his heart and company.
He has a good appetite for wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
Little is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
