Adopted by Elizabeth, Paul, Flynn and Elizabeth
This boy, Leo, has such a magnificent ruff around his neck we wanted to give him a lion’s name. He has marvelous thick, red fur. Others would call it orange but not me. I call these kitties “the red boys”. When a very nice shelter was arranging a transport to us I said ” Anyone else want to come?” When she mentioned two red Maine Coon boys I immediately said Yes. I always say yes to red ones of all ages, if I can. (The second one is a huge (17 pounds!) red and white boy, also 4 yrs old. I will be posting him soon. )
When the transport arrived look what we got!! What a beautiful, friendly kitty Leonardo is . I don’t know his backstory at all. How did he end up in a shelter??? He is young, healthy, loving, good natured, tolerant, funny. Gorgeous. He is perfect with his box. What’s not to like?
Leo has a silky, plush coat, soft feet, a plume of a tail. His body is solid and compact. He may have an extra pound on him but he is a strong kitty. He loves to be petted and purrs when he’s brushed. Leo doesn’t know us well and is politely very wiggly when we unsuccessfully hold him for photo’s. However in the picture below you can see him standing on the shelter director’s chest. He probably climbed there himself. He clearly likes people.
Leonardo is a good family cat. I don’t know how he is with dogs but he would probably be good with gentle dogs. Can’t you imagine him sleeping next to a Golden Retriever? ( photo opportunity! ) I expect he would be good with respectful, loving children. Maine Coons are more comfortable with noisy home environments than many breeds would be.
This boy is a joy and some family will be so lucky to have his companionship.
Leo eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
Leonardo is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Leonardo please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at firstname.lastname@example.org If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at email@example.com.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
