About Kazoo
Adopted by Lauren and Justin
Unfortunately, this sweet kitty’s mom died very suddenly. Kazoo’s world changed in that instant. He lived in his mom’s home for about half a year after her death. Her boyfriend was around for a little while and then his mom’s mother came to check on him and feed him. He would run and sit on her lap for as long as she could stay. Mostly he was alone and of course, he was lonely. You can see the photo of him below in which he is looking so sad sitting in an entirely empty kitchen. His mom’s sister worked very hard to find a rescue to take him in. Purebreds was happy to say yes.
Kazoo arrived unsettled and depressed a couple days before Christmas. After a month of being withdrawn, he began to return to being the loving cutie that he always was. He loves laps and will happily settle in whenever he can. Do you need late night movie companion? Kazoo is up for the job. He will emotionally push his head hard into your hand when you pet him. I don’t know but I expect he would love to sleep in bed with you. He is a great companion. Maine Coons are known for being smart kitties. I also think of them as being full of personality. They are real characters, each one different.
Kazoo has shown us that he does not like male cats at all. He once lived comfortably with a female kitty but I think it would be best if he were an only cat in a home of adults. He is a confident cat who has definite opinions. He does not want his tail pulled. I have no idea how he is with dogs. His blood panel that was drawn in December shows him to be a healthy kitty. He does, and always has, had occasional episodes of pink eyelids in one eye or the other. It comes and goes and doesn’t seem to bother him. He is going to a feline ophthalmologist this week just to see if there is anything we should know. Conjunctivitis is caused by many different things: seasonal or food allergies, household cleaners, bacteria, herpes etc. This may just be who he is or perhaps we will find out something useful.
Kazoo is a good eater and likes wet and dry food. He is litterbox perfect.
Kazoo is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Kazoo please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
