About Kahlana
Born ~6/18/2020, F, White Turkish Angora
So how did it happen that this gloriously beautiful young kitty was found wandering all alone. A kind family who found her put her in their garage. She was desperate for water. They had three cats and couldn’t keep her. They found a kind husband and wife team experienced with rescuing cats who offered to help her and took her to their vet. She was posted everywhere. Ultimately she came to us at Purebreds.
Kahlana is a very young Turkish Angora girl, about a year old. She has the long, fine boned, slender body with big ears and winding tail that are typical of Turkish Angoras. She is sort of coltish right now- active, bouncy, leggy with her hind legs longer than the front. I think she must have been abandoned. No one came forward to claim her. She is so striking she would have been easy to find. You can tell she wasn’t outside for long because she would have ended up pregnant soon. You can see in some photo’s that her tummy was shaved from her recent surgery making her look thin which she is not. The vets say she is a super healthy girl.
I think of her as still a baby kitty. She is young to be so all alone in the world and she comes to humans for comfort and reassurance. Kahlana hasn’t been with us very long so she is still relaxing and getting to know us. She loves having her head and neck petted the most. She loves attention. She will get a little jumpy and concerned if you pet her tail or the rear of her body. Has someone pulled her long tail? Probably. You can tell she has been unsure out in the world. She will come to you saying “love me help me” and then pull back and gently tap your hand sometimes as if to say Am I safe here? This uncertainty will probably disappear very soon in a loving and stable home. She doesn’t seem to like other cats. I don’t know how she is with dogs. Let’s send her home as an only pet.
Turkish Angoras want to bond deeply with their humans. They are known for wanting to be in the center of everything going in their homes ready to admire, supervise and lend a paw. Kahlana is growing into the regal bearing of her heritage. Do you see it in her photo’s?
We think this lovely girl would do best in a quiet, stable family of adults and older children who are gentle and respectful of animals. Some family will be so lucky to have her graceful, loving company.
This kitty was previously posted thru our Owner Placement Program under the name Kahalssi.
Kahlana is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Kahlana please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
