About El Chapo

Adopted by Kim

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program.  We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat.  It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

El Chapo is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with his current owner in Sacramento. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

El Chapo is a young, big, healthy, gorgeous, bi-color, white mitted Ragdoll boy with a gorgeous fluffy tail. He is very loving and seeks attention from both adults and kids. He will run ahead of you flopping over onto his back at your feet when he wants your attention and affection. This confident boy is not scared of anything! He is a lap cat and loves to play with kids.

He was named El Chapo because he walks like a bully, and is unafraid. He has been raised with two large dogs. He will cuddle with them and seek their attention without being shy or scared. He actually has a personality more like a dog than a cat. He chases balls and toys like a dog. El Chapo gets along with other cats and has been used to having a feline companion, although they were not a bonded pair, did not groom each other or sleep in the same bed, they were fine being with each other.

Here are a few of his favorite things: he loves his cat tree and being up high to relax, he likes his scratch toys with catnip, and cat toy teasers with balls. El Chapo takes direction well, comes when called by name, and listens to the word “no” if he gets into something and responds appropriately. He is a really good boy.

The Ragdoll’s luxurious coat needs regular grooming. El Chapo will let you brush him, but only tolerates 5-7 mins at a time before he clearly lets you know he’s done and walks away. His owner says he does best with short increments of grooming. Having a toy to play with while being brushed helps re-direct his attention. He is okay about having any knots clipped out with scissors and is accustomed to a rake comb to brush him. El Chapo absolutely does not like being picked up but tolerates it well if he needs to be brought from room to room.

He currently is open-fed and eats Royal Canin – Hairball Dry Food, and also receives 1/2 can wet food morning and night time. He is litter box trained.

Why would such a wonderful cat need a new home, you may wonder? A family member has developed a severe allergic reaction to cats. Regretfully, through the advice of their physician, they have made the difficult decision to seek out the very best adopter in the world for El Chapo to be well taken care of in the way he has become accustomed. He most certainly will return that love with all his heart, including interactive playtime and belly flops on the floor galore! He’s one in a million, that’s for sure!

Standard Adoption Fee of $175 applies

El Chapo is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

He currently lives with his owner in Sacramento.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for El Chapo please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Pam at cheemers@gmail.com or 541-290-8408. If you are unable to reach Pam please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
