About Harvey
Adopted by Jenn J
Here’s Harvey. We got him out of a shelter on Thanksgiving Day last year. He was on the “Needs Rescue List” because he had been bitten and he had a wound / abscess on his right cheek. The shelter shaved his cheek and started him on antibiotics. When he arrived he was full of energy and had a great desire to eat, play and be held . He was a wonderful Thanksgiving Day gift to us. It is a joy to help a little purring kitten so full of life and gratitude.
He actually needed a lot of help as he struggled to fight off his infection. We fussed with him with compresses and stuff and continued antibiotics for over a month. His wound got worse before it got better and we worried. Finally it was healed, hair started growing in and all was well. His hair is still growing in but he looks very good. I have included some photo’s for you that show the right side of his face.
Harvey’s clearly a handsome treasure. He is a “Lynx Point” which means he has stripes on his face, legs and tail and a creamy body. As a Ragdoll he has eyes that are deep pools of blue. As you can see, his fur is soft, fluffy, medium length. It is a delight to pet and hold him. Harvey is happy to be on your lap or shoulder when he is tired of playing and it is his idea.
This boy loves humans. He did so from the first minute we took him out of the carrier when he sort of huddled, cuddled close in on our shoulders. “Hold me. Keep me safe. Love me.” He had an appealing, slightly sad, anxious look which you can still see a little. Harvey has had a difficult beginning- not only getting a serious wound but also, at the same time, losing his home and all he knew. Those memories are fading and now this boy is in the classic kitten development stage of running around and playing with everything. He is indeed a play monster and especially LOVES feathers on wands. Unfortunately all the play photo’s I took were a blur of movement. He is a happy, healthy little guy ready for his home.
Harvey clearly does not like male cats. He is ok with the two older female kitties he has been with. We think however the best thing is to send him home as an only cat and an only pet.( Perhaps he was bitten by a dog.) There maybe exceptions to this like an older, lazy, big sweet dog. He would probably be fine with children over 10 years old or so. He needs love, stability and someone happy to wave a feather for him a lot, though he plays very well by himself.
He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
Harvey is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
