About Callen

Callen is a sweet Persian boy with radiant golden eyes. He adjusts quickly to any new situation, he is such a sweetheart! Everyone that has met him has fallen in love with him. They are amazed at how loving he is!
This boy was caught in a trap by someone trying to catch feral cats. They were surprised to find him in the trap, considering how friendly he is, so they checked for a microchip. Unfortunately he didn’t have one. Also he was quite dirty and very hungry. We don’t know how long he had been outside all alone.
He will need brushing, which he thoroughly enjoys, to keep him from matting. His coat is fairly silky, and therefore easier to keep in good shape, compared to most Persians. He does require his eyes, and the creases around his nose to be wiped daily due to his flat face.
He loves human attention and runs to greet his foster mom when she comes in the room. He loves to chase the feather on a string, his favorite toy. After playtime, he likes to sit on her lap and enjoys being cuddled.
His foster mom has brought her cat in the room a few times. The first time he went toward her, he sniffed her and then followed his foster mom. The next time he was sitting on the window ledge. He saw her, made a chirping sound, jumped down and went to say hello. They touched noses and then they sat back and looked at each other. He should be fine with a proper slow introduction to another calm cat. He would probably do well with a slow introduction to cat friendly dogs, as well.

Callen is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
He currently lives with his foster family in Carmichael.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
