About This Cat

Adopted by Karen

Born ~2106, F, Sable Burmese

Sade is a beautiful Burmese with her big green eyes and her shiny Sable coat that shines brighter when she sits in a sunny window. Sade has never been heard to meow, but when she sleeps has the cutest,  subtle, baby snore. Sade likes to play with her round balls, especially the ones that jingle or are made of yarn. She enjoys jumping up on window sills, counter tops and can open cabinet doors, drawers and closets on her own. She watches cat TV and stares at the birds or interacts with the birds on her fosters IPad. Sade is not a picky eater and enjoys both dry kibble and canned food. She will lick her bowl clean. She enjoys her occasional cat treat, not out of your hand but placed in front of her on the floor.

While Sade sounds like the perfect cat, she has another side to her. She doesn’t like loud noises, even the sound of multiple people laughing startles her. If she’s alone she sleeps on her foster mom’s bed but otherwise she sleeps in the closet or under the bed. Sade does not like to be touched or have anyone get too close to her. She has a very sweet demeanor, though, and will not bite or scratch unless she feels threatened.

Sade’s background caused these behaviors in her. She came from a breeder situation where the cats were not getting the attention that created the friendly kitty we would all like to have in our home. But Sade has come along to the point where she now needs her person who will work with her to bring to the surface the cat we see glimpses of. If you have a quiet, adult home and would like a companion kitty who in time may be the cat we think she can be, then consider submitting an adoption application for Sade. We’d love to talk to you.

Sade will come to you FeLV/FIV negative, current on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped. She is litter box perfect.

Sade is fostered in Oakland.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment.  Why?  This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other.  A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
