Born ~ 5/18/16, F, Golden Brown Tabby Persian
Jinjer is an adorable golden brown tabby Persian, she will be 3 years old on May 8. She is a lovebug and she gets along fine with other kitties and cat-friendly dogs, both big and little. She loves to be held on her back and cradled like a baby, she’s just a sweetheart.
She had one issue when I first got her; she had separation anxiety and she didn’t like to be left alone and she urinated on my bed. I had her checked at the vet and there was no infection, just a behavioral thing. It started up while I was on a three week vacation, I had a pet sitter come twice a day but that wasn’t enough for her. I do know it was her because she kept it up for a few days after we got home, she did it while I was in bed and I know she was holding a grudge. Since that initial tantrum, we have started her on Seraphim; it’s an anti-anxiety/anti-depressant drug for kitties that completely solved the problem. She hasn’t had any accidents in over 6 months and she is very good about taking her half a pill every morning. Her vet recommends that she stay on the medication for at least a couple years in her new home before trying to wean her off of it. The cost of the medication is $40 for a 2 month supply. At PPCR, we believe in full disclosure up front so I want to put this out there right away. Again, she has been a perfect little angel since starting the medication.
She loves to play, especially with laser beams and little mice. Her coat is super think and she is very good about letting you pull apart little matts with your fingers, she isn’t too fond of the comb but fingers are good. She also loves being shaved in a lion cut.
Jinjer is fostered in Placerville, CA.
