About Zoie
Born ~2017, F, Bronze Egyptian Mau mix
Adoption Fee: $175
This lovely girl grew up in a home with a great deal of love. When she was old enough however they did not get her spayed and I expect there were many other kitties not fixed in this home. How quickly families end up with too many cats. When Zoie went into heat she escaped from the home searching for “love” and became a mom somewhere out in the community. I am told after about two and a half yrs she took up permanent residence away from her family’s many cats a couple streets away and lived as a community cat, homeless, often pregnant.
A woman doing trap-neuter-return in that area caught her in a trap and had her immediately spayed and ear tipped. Only when this trapper got her back did she find out that she was not a feral but rather a very friendly and loving kitty. Purebreds took her into foster. Sometime later the trapper met her original family and learned the history I am relating here.
Egyptian Mau cats are the only breed of spotted cats that come by their spots naturally. Bengals, for example, have been carefully bred to develop their beautiful spots and rosettes. Not so for Egyptian Maus. These are unusually healthy, athletic cats that bond very deeply with their humans.
Aside from her beauty what makes Zoie so unusual is her gentleness. She seems to love all other cats and all humans. What an affectionate sweet girl she is! Zoie will be glad to greet your friends when they come to dinner. Her gentle spirit will calm you after a distressing day out in the world. She will lie on you or next to you to watch late night movies. She is a treasure.
Having finished nursing her four kids ( who will be posted later ) she has put on a couple pounds which her new family will I am sure exercise off her. Maus do love to eat and her family will need to keep an eye on the scale for her. She would be happy as a family cat or as a companion to an adult or two. I don’t know how she is with dogs.
Some family will be very lucky to have her sweet companionship and love.
Zoie is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
