About Whiskey

Adopted by Kalford & Joshua

This is an easy kitten. Easy to photograph, easy to cuddle, easy to brush, easy to pick up, easy to love. He has the sweet nature we love in the “red boys”. At six months he is well over seven pounds, so at the rule of thumb of a pound a month he is bigger than normal for his age. Soon he will be a wonderful Maine Coon boy, large, but I think based on his feet, not huge. His fur is thick, silky and medium long length. In some of these photos below his coat is wibble wobbly and standing up in the air. That is the static in his coat and it makes him look odd but it easily goes away. He loves being brushed. He actually loves all the kinds of attention and loving touch that you can give him.

Whiskey loves humans and he showed that Day One when he arrived from the shelter. I always try to take in little all alone red kittens. They have such tender hearts and you can see his tenderness in his expression. Do notice his ear tufts – they may be the longest I have ever seen on a six month old kitten. Image how they and he will look when he is full grown. As a kitty with Maine Coon heritage he will continue growing until he is about three and a half years old. He is long and slender now but will thicken as a couple years pass. Whiskey has extra-long whiskers and fancy ear hair to go with his ear tufts. It is too soon for his ruff to grow in to complete the look but his head is going to look magnificent. I wish I could see him when he is grown.

This boy is a soft red, not a saturated red color. Some folks call this color fawn. He is a soft kitty is many ways. Soft nature, soft feeling fur, soft pink nose, soft paws, soft colors. Whiskey is a relatively quiet kitty, playful but not a play monster. He likes other cats in an easy going way and would probably like gentle dogs and other animals. Gentle, respectful children should be fine with him. He wants company and closeness and needs a family who will be around him most of the time.

He eats wet and dry food and is litter box perfect.

He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Whiskey please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
