About Tucker

Born ~4/24/19, M, Black Domestic Short Hair

Although Tucker is not a purebred, one look at this sweet boy and we knew he was extraordinary and had to help him!

Tucker had a rough start in life yet is a happy, sweet, and fun energetic ball of love with a quirky personality, all while being loving, loyal and intelligent. He enjoys playing with others and once he realizes he is safe, is more than happy to indulge you in pets and love by being a leg twirler, belly rub lover and nose kisser. He loves crawling up in your lap for some sweet cuddle time as well as sitting on your shoulder as an emotional support/supervisor boy.

Throughout Tucker’s rough start, he had support and love from Tessa (a gorgeous Maine coon mix girl). They came in at the same time to the shelter and immediately bonded. Through thick and thin they have been there for each other and even though they have other playmates now, they still migrate to each other for love and cuddles. Because they are so bonded, we decided that we couldn’t break them up. Tucker and Tessa are quite a duo. If you aren’t a fan of nose kisses, lap warmers, shoulder pillows, and sweet chirps these wouldn’t be the pair for you.

Tucker’s favorite toys include just about anything he can make into a toy and has a tendency to prefer the less expensive toys so paper towel rolls, paper bags, boxes, and zip ties are a must! Despite his past, Tucker has truly blossomed in his time in foster care and will make the perfect combination of lap cat and playmate, making you feel like the luckiest person alive!

In addition to his adoring eyes, Tucker has a beautiful velvety short coat that is extremely easy to maintain with grooming once a week at the most. He is still learning to appreciate grooming at the moment, in his own adolescence fashion, so short grooming sessions work a best for now. Tucker’s foster family has all sorts of other furry creatures he gets along with, even the Border Collie Gracie. Tucker is not much of a talker and if he does, it is in a very soft voice.

Tucker and Tessa are up-to-date on their vaccinations, neutered/spayed, FeLV tested, dewormed, microchipped and use the litter box perfectly. They have a fairly simple diet of both canned and dry food and love the occasional treat too, though would most likely eat them in exchange of real food.

Tucker and Tessa currently live with their foster family in Sacramento. Who wouldn’t want a dynamic duo of the greatest, most loyal, loving, best friends around? If you are looking for charismatic love bugs for your home and heart, and willing to give them as much love as they will provide, they would love to have you as their forever family!

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
