About Tiger Lily

Adopted by Josh and Melanie

This striking girl was just a little beige scrap of life at a shelter. She weighed a pound and had a cold. Her eyes were crusted shut. It was her temporary blindness that grabbed my heart, poor little thing. I have quite a lot of experience with kitten eyes and know they heal very well and she was no exception. When her eyes could open they were blue and that confirmed my thought that she was a Siamese kitten.

All Siamese are born all beige. Their colors – dark brown, grey, lilac, flame, lynx – only show up as they mature. Suddenly, it seems overnight, some color appears on their heads, tails, ears and feet. It is fascinating to watch. Well, this little girl’s color development was more fascinating than usual. This kitten was no Siamese. All of a sudden there on her flank were the arrowhead markings of a Snow Bengal, a Seal Lynx Point Snow Bengal to be exact, our expert said. She also said Snow Bengals are like little ugly ducklings as kittens until they totally transform. Such fun. Snow Bengals are the only Bengals with beautiful blue eyes. I included a kitten photo, after her eyes healed, for you to see below.

Needless to say we were surprised and delighted. We think probably a breeder brought this kitten in to the shelter because she was ill and her swollen, blind eyes were disturbing.

So here we have a healthy, growing Snow Bengal. Tiger Lily is a playful kitten, raised and comfortable with other kittens. She is a healthy girl growing quickly. Hers is a muscular, agile body. Right now she is a little wary of human strangers and she hates my camera but she is a sweet girl who will be a great companion in her new home.

I have no idea how Tiger Lily is with dogs. She is fine with cats albeit probably she is a dominant personality. She would be fine with athletic, active kitties, not Persians for example. The danger of a home with children is that they may inadvertently let her outside. It is always a big challenge for folks with Bengals to keep them from getting outside. Unlike most kitties, they tend to quickly travel far and wide and often never make it home. Bengals are also super smart and many can open door handles and so forth. I tell folks Bengals are a life style choice by which I mean you must be willing to alter your life and home to keep your Bengals safe, inside and entertained. I am looking for a Bengal experienced home for this beautiful girl.

Tiger Lily eats high quality wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Tiger Lily is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
