Born October 22, 2013, Dilute Cream, Purebred Exotic Shorthair

Looking at this little cat, aren’t you instantly reminded of an adorably soft teddy bear? His current owner thought so too, which is why he has the nickname Ted, short for Teddy Bear. His actual name is Desert Dusk.

Isn’t it frustrating when you think you do something wonderful by bringing home a third kitty to join your two existing female cats, who, by the way, get along splendidly with each other? You figure three kitties will have even more fun than two. And then it backfires, because one of your cats is a Calico who thinks it’s just dandy to go up to sweet, soft little Ted and paw him across his face, just for the fun of it. Thankfully she doesn’t use her claws, but I am sure he thinks to himself “what the heck did she do that for?” If these little kitties could only talk…

Fur ball Ted is a lap cat and a true cuddle bear. When he sits on your lap, his little purr motor gets going. When he reaches for your face so he can put a gentle little paw on it, I am sure your heart will melt. His owner thinks he is just the sweetest little cat; Ted never hisses or growls, he is a calm and sometimes talkative little pet. His little tail wiggles in happiness when he sees his people. He is a little play monster when he gets a new toy and will do acrobatic air flips to show you how happy he is. Other adorable things his current owners wants you to know about Ted is that he loves to sleep and snuggle in cardboard boxes (and he likes to play in the brown packaging paper). He also really likes to be cuddled – like when you give him a small little bear hug.

In the past he has had some issues with urinary crystals, so his diet will need to be carefully monitored. Because of a change in work schedule, his current owner does not have the time she used to have to devote to this beloved pet. Heartbroken as she is about the decision to rehome him, she has requested our assistance to help find him a wonderful home where he will be spoiled, loved and doted on, and can be the center of some lucky person’s attention for the rest of his life. His ideal home will be with a family where there is someone home a lot. Older, cat savvy children who know how to be gentle with a kitty would probably welcome this little fur baby. No more feisty Calicos or other domineering cats for him please. He hasn’t been around dogs so we don’t know how he would do with a dog.
