About Takara
Oh hello, I’m Takara. I’m a little cautious, so I tend to hang back a bit and wait to see the trouble my brother and sister get into. I just like to know what I might be getting into you know. Okay, well, most of the time. If you dangle da mouse in front of me, look out though, ’cause I’m going to get it! Go ahead, wiggle your toes, I’ll get them too! I like the ipad fish game thingy but it’s hard to have a turn with my siblings jumping all over it. That’s okay though because my foster Mom always takes that extra time when I’m not playing to love me. Mmmm.
Takara is the mid-size of the three kittens and has all the physical characteristics of a Singapura. Her name means treasure, and that she is. Her eyes are very expressive. She can seem a bit cautious and demure, but once you have her trust she will be yours forever. She will sit near you, on your leg or on your shoulder. A loyal companion you will have.
The three kittens, Hiroki, Takara and Emiko, had a Singapura Mom who weighed about 7 pounds and was a darker ruddy chocolate color and a Burmese Dad. We believe the Mom had Burmese in her background. Many breeders cross Singapuras with Burmese since the breeds have very similar personalities and characteristics. This can result in a wider span of colors and a more robust and healthy cat, since the gene pool for Singapuras is limited. These three kittens are an awesome example of this! Hiroki is more Burmese while Takara and Emiko are Singapuras.
Takara will be ready to go home late November to early December. She currently weighs in at 1.8 lbs. and is about 10 weeks old as of October 29th! The adoption timing is estimated as they need to be a certain weight to be fixed before they can go home. Takara will come to you fully vetted, up-to date on vaccines, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed and FIV/FLEV negative and of course she is litterbox perfect.
Takara is fostered in Reno, NV.
Please call the lucky foster parents Kathy or Norton at 775-626-3518 or email tazanovakat@yahoo.com or send an Adoption Application.

This is a highly active, curious and affectionate cat. He may be small, but he knows he’s in charge. Expect him to supervise everything you do and to bluff you into leaving him alone when there’s something he doesn’t want to do, such as get his nails trimmed. He loves attention from his family so much that he sometimes has the reputation of being a pest.
The Singapura is usually cautious and shy when it comes to meeting new people, however some are friends with everyone. They typically get along well with other cats—especially other Singapuras. One thing they don’t like is a lot of loud noise, so screaming children and a very loud boisterous house hold could have them shrinking away in horror and hiding.
They are people-oriented and require regular, quality human interaction. Other cats for company will not be sufficient, your attention is required, greatly appreciated, and adorably reciprocated.
These cats come in “sepia agouti”. Agouti or “ticked” coats have bands of color around each strand of hair giving a rich, shaded quality, think Abyssinian coat. The sepia tones are ivory to ruddy to dark chocolate, and the underside of the cat is a lighter shade. The weight of a full grown cat is 6-8 pounds.
