About Starlight

Starlight came to us from a Pedigreed Ragdoll Cattery whose owner asked for our help in finding homes for some of her gorgeous Ragdolls. I have sent many of these kitties home in pairs. They are almost all gone now and Starlight is the last one who would be willing to be adopted as an only cat. She is cat friendly and could be a companion to her new family’s existing kitty but Starlight doesn’t want to be dominated by one (or more) kitties. Since this breeder let her kitties run around under foot they were happy and well socialized but also they were a bit weary of competition for human attention from other cats. Of course.
Starlight is such a one. She is ready to be the empress in her home and have lots of attention from her humans. She is goodnatured when humans annoy her by doing things like showing off her fluffy tummy and moving her here and there. A good mellow Ragdoll she says “OK ,if you must, go ahead”. You could say she has some of the Diva in her but not a movie star kind of Diva. She dislikes my cell phone and all my picture taking antics and she scowls at the camera. “Stop that stuff and come pet me!” She is so cute. No scowl can hide her blue, blue eyes. This cattery is known for the depth of the blue in their kitties’ eyes. And many, like her, have white feet which is a particular favorite of mine.
As a two year old Starlight’s colors are still darkening. She will keep maturing for at least another year now. She was 9 pounds when she arrived and is just under 11 pounds now. We have put her on weight loss kibble since despite what she says this weight is not all muscle. The breeder mentioned how very playful she is and how she loved to play fetch up and down a staircase in her house. Starlight wants attention but she also wants it when and in the way she is comfortable with it. Too much right away from a stranger might overexcite her. A cat experienced adopter would be preferable. Star wants to feel in charge a bit. This is why I call her a bit of “an empress”. She will get right to work training her new humans. As is her job as a kitty. Do you enjoy being trainable?
Starlight also likes a clean litterbox and we give her one for her poop and one for her pee and she is fine with that. She will eat anything including high fiber weight loss food. It is easy to feed her. She is great fun.
Some family will be so lucky to live with her entertaining companionship and her beautiful appearance.
Starlight is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
