August 8, 2022: Maisie continues to make progress.
Maisie is slowly making progress. She has gained two pounds. Probably because she loves her treats and her foster’s inability to deny her that happiness. She is starting to move around a bit. She still has a way to go, before being ready to find a forever home, but she continues to make steady progress.
July 10, 2022 Update: Maise made it through surgery and is doing well!
Maisie was prepped fro surgery on July 5th. The plan was to repair the fractured bones in the back leg. The bad news was repairing the leg was not a viable solution with the damage that had been done. We made the decision to amputate. The good news is she made it through the surgery with flying colors and is recovering. She is with her foster Mom in a recovery enclosure with a sunny window view. Maisie is getting lots of love, needed support care and nightly treats which looks forward too. Basically, yes, we are spoiling her. More updates to come as she becomes a fantastic tripod kitty!
Original Post: Our rescue took in a Snow Bengal who not only has a fractured pelvis but a broken tibia/fibula. Maisie now must face the challenge of difficult surgeries and recovery in addition to the insecurities of being in an unfamiliar home with strangers who only want the best for her.
This girl is a beautiful and somewhat rarer purebred Snow Lynx Bengal with pale cream color that contrasts beautifully with her darker colored rosettes and amazing blue eyes. Even will all she has been through lately, she is full of love, and curiosity and is always the first in the group to say hello. She loves to purr and is also charming and polite.
Knowing she can live a full and normal life with some small modifications, we won’t give up on this little gem. We are working on finding her the best treatment for long term and we expect it will be pretty expensive. We will update the detailed efforts needed for her in the next few weeks as we learn more from our trusted veterinarian. Maisie’s medical bills will exceed over $2,000 on the low end and we have only started this long journey with her.
There is still a rough and difficult road ahead for her to get healthy and ready for a forever home. You can make a huge impact on this little girl’s life! We know it will take lots of time, love, and persistence but we are determined to give this girl the happy, healthy life she deserves! Please donate to help her now!
