About Sophie

Suddenly ill, her dad was rushed to the hospital and died soon after. Sophie had been his precious companion, his treasure, sleeping in bed with him every night. What a great kitty she is, a pert, funny little miss. Black ears, white ear hair, black nose ,white cheeks, black goatee, greenish eyes. As a dramatic symphony in black and white she also has black and white hair on all four paws, a black back with a white racing stripe, a big black plume of a tail. Her coat is medium length, with silky soft fur. Her perfect goatee is adorable.
Sophie is fun. She likes people, windows, toys, catnip, other cats and everything else in her world. I do not know how she is with dogs. She is still very young and growing, still a baby cat. She is smaller than she looks in these photographs. Maine Coons grow in body size and maturity into their third year so she has a ways to go. This has been a turbulent time for her ( partly all alone for days in her home ) but she has come through with a good grace. Her loving dad created a very nicely socialized, confident, happy girl.
Sophie is a Maine Coon mix which means she is a smart, interactive family cat and a quirky comedian. She would probably be happy with all but very young children ( few cats are comfortable with the sounds of toddlers). This girl is an easy kitty to find a home for, she would be happy in many places. Some family, or couple, or single person will be so lucky to have her entertaining company and love. Ideally it would be great to find a home with a kitty or cat loving dog as a playmate for her.
Sophie eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Sophie is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
