About Snowball

Adopted by Kathy and Neil

When Snowball was about two months old, a cat lover found some young kids “playing” with him by tossing him about. She intervened, took him home, and raised him with lots of love.  When he was ready to go home, and when she could bring herself to let him go, she contacted us. She said her three year old was kind of rough on him and so were her other cats. In the first photo of him that we took, the last below, you can see that he has a little bite wound on his nose. He needed a home of his own.

Snowball has grown quickly in the month he has been with us and now he is a bit like a gangly colt, all long legs and long body. He arrived as a cat who loved being held and cuddled on a lap or shoulder. He loves humans. Right now, he also really loves running. Kittens go thru stages as they grow up just as human children do. He is in his colt / explorer stage.

Snowball is a Flame Point Siamese with some red on his ears, head and tail but he has snow-white fur (not beige) which must be how he got his name. Of course, he has the blue, blue eyes of a Siamese though my photos don’t show them well.  Today trying to photograph him, he had a case of the “Zoomies” and was racing around having so much fun doing everything except posing.  He is very entertaining and full of himself. He has beautiful, graceful lines as you can see. He is an elegant kitten.

Snowball has an unusual litterbox preference.  He really wants a clean box so his new family needs to be happy about scooping his box twice a day. I know people who scoop a box whenever they see there is something in it which would work for him. Another option would be to give him two or three boxes and see if that satisfies him. He objects to other cats’ poop or pee in his box as well as his own. If his box is not clean, he sometimes shows his displeasure by pooping next to the box, outside it. So he is fastidious and needs a human who is also. I have wondered how he would feel about an electric box.

I think it would be best to have him be an only cat with a human or humans who were around much of the time. Siamese cats really need a deep intimate bond with their humans in general. It is no different with this boy. Perhaps he could be good friends and enjoy playing with a dog. That is a happy image.

Snowball eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Snowball is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
