About Sir Francis
Born ~6/19, M, White-Mitted, Red Tabby & White Maine Coon Mix
Don’t be deceived by this boy’s mild, somewhat goofy expression. He is actually quite a little play monster. He will ask a cat larger than he is to play with him by essentially tackling him from the side and pushing him over and then the wonderful wrestling match is on. There is not a mean bone in his body – don’t misunderstand me- but he loves to be rambunctious with kitties. He looks quiet mannered but he is not so all the time. He is a mischievous cat who is all fun.( “Who me?” he says.)
With humans Francis is all about affection and he will cuddle happily in your arms and offer his soft fur for your petting. He is a warm armful. He is still growing and will, I think, be a medium large cat. Look at his long tail in the photos. It is very expressive. Cat body language experts say when a cat or kitten’s tail is straight up they are happy and when the tip bends and points toward the head he or she is happy to see you and be around you. His tail is straight up and bent a lot.
Sir Francis is a classic, curious kitten who wants to explore everything and then nap on your lap or sprawl in the middle of a pillow. He would like another kitten or cat to play with or perhaps a small dog though I have never seen him around dogs. He is a confident guy now that he is getting older. He was always at least a month younger than the kittens around him which made him seem so little. He has caught up now. He was given to me when tiny by a stranger. He was a singleton, a kitten all alone
Francis will make some family a wonderful, entertaining companion. He would probably be fine with gentle, respectful, middle sized children. He needs a playful kitty companion with whom he can run about and play, a younger kitty. He might annoy a senior citizen kitty with his kitten energy. (“Wake up and play with me!!”)
Sir Francis eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
