About Sally Buttons

Adopted by Katy & Peter
Born ~10/2017, F, Seal Point Snowshoe Siamese Mix

Well Honestly! I mean Really???? This lovely one year old girl did not eat for a week and her family brought her to the shelter and requested euthanasia. It is written right there on her intake form. “She hasn’t eaten for a week. Please euthanize” Yes, you are quite right this little girl had a cold and could not smell her food. Kitty colds happen all the time. They are no reason to take your kitty to the shelter.

This overwhelmed but well intended shelter reached out to Purebreds Plus. Was I interested in this cat? The shelter is about an hour from me so I asked a helpful volunteer to go visit her and report back. “She is a sweetheart!! ” I was told.

Yes she is. We found she was a very nice, loving, goodnatured, cooperative, beautiful girl. What is there not to like in that? Yes she had the end of a cold, she was no longer sneezing but she had goopy eyes which we medicated. We put her on cold meds and lysine. She got over her cold right away. You can see how clear and beautiful her eyes are. She is so friendly we all instantly fell in love with her.

Buttons is only 7 pounds so she is a medium / small cat; she not as big as she looks in her photographs. She is probably still growing. Maybe she is growing into her tail. Her tail is magnificent and is a great plume of long hair. Buttons is one of those wonderful kitties that has bunny hair- it is super fine and soft, lovely to pet. She loves to cuddle and is definitely a lap cat or a shoulder cat. She will lie on your lap and watch late night movies with you. Kitties with snowy white feet are called “white mitted” kitties. Some Ragdolls are white mitted. All “Snowshoe Siamese” kitties must have white mitted feet. Both breeds have her coloring and her blue eyes. Her big full tail makes me think she has some Ragdoll in her. Elsewhere her shorter soft fur is more like a Siamese kitty.

I have no idea how she is with dogs. She is probably fine with gentle, non-aggressive cats. She would also probably be fine with respectful, gentle children over 3 feet high. Buttons would love a quiet home where her humans are around her a lot. She would likely be a bit overwhelmed in a home with lots of noise and chaos. All sorts of people would be so delighted to have the company of this little girl. She seems to have no bad habits.

Sally Buttons eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Contact Harriet at (831) 336-2983 or email: harrietkitty@comcast.net if you have questions, or send an Adoption Application. If you are unable to reach Harriet by phone or email, email us at Info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
