About Rockstar

 Adopted by Andrea and Mark

The story is that a 20-year-old woman bought Rockstar from a breeder. Then, in a little over a year, her new landlord made her turn him into a shelter. He arrived with very dirty white feet and was quite stressed and out of sorts. A bath improved his sparkling feet and his matching white goatee. His beautiful blue, blue eyes are slightly crossed. So cute. Look at the great dark plume of his tail. Ragdolls, like Maine Coons, keep growing larger into their third year.

With color-pointed Ragdolls, their “points,” in this case seal ( brown ) points (mask, ears, tail ), keep darkening as they grow older. His coloring has been darkening even in the short time we have had him. He is still growing up. And he is growing so strikingly beautiful. The ruff around his neck has begun to grow fluffier. He is very much a growing boy socially as well as physically.

For the first month as our foster, he was a little uncertain, maybe depressed, polite, but very restrained. Ragdolls are very emotional cats and don’t do well in shelters. Then things changed, and he got the idea that life is all about fun and foolish play. His name was changed to Rockstar ( It had been “Ghost”). He is having fun now- running, doing somersaults, rolling around, exploring everything, being crazy with toys.

Generally, Ragdolls are mellow, sensitive, loving cats. Rockstar loves humans and the attention and catnip they can give him. However, Rockstar is not mellow yet. Right now, he has an abundance of kitten energy for movement and play. I wonder if he was locked up a lot of his first year or so because his joy in play is very strong. Rockstar is looking for a home where he can be an active, happy kitty. Older cat-savvy children would enjoy his exuberant company. He is not a good choice for a family with young children or a family with someone unsteady on their feet.

Rockstar mostly gets along with other cats, though occasionally, a male will annoy him, but you can tell he has had little experience with cat friends. He is still figuring things out. Perhaps he would do best starting out as an only cat or not, depending on his adopter’s cats. A friendly dog might be a wonderful playmate for him. This is a stage he’s in, and he will grow up and mellow out someday.

Rockstar will be a very entertaining kitty for some lucky family. I have stressed his activity level, but his desire to be petted and loved is equally wonderful.

Rockstar eats wet and dry food and is litterbox-perfect.

Rockstar is neutered, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

He is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Rockstar, please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com. If you are unable to reach Harriet, please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children to bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
