About Quicksilver

Adopted by Shelby and Sean

Born ~June, 2016, Male, Silver Grey Tabby Maine Coon Mix

You can see Quicksilver’s shelter picture below. There was something so whimsical and so sweet / sad about his expression. I had to go see him. He reached out a paw from the cage. I picked him up and he melted. “Please get me out of here” he said. He had spent the last four weeks in a dark and small stainless steel cage in a windowless room full of cats with colds. He had a cold also. The young goofy kitten side of him only had the blank concrete wall opposite him to look at. He was miserable and not fighting off his cold.

It may be partly because of his boring weeks there that he so loves human attention. He is a great cuddler. We had to isolate him in his foster home because of his cold also but at least we could put him in a room with window and a skylight. And we put him on antibiotics and soon he was done with the cold and ready for fun. He loves to run. He loves playing with other cats. He loves birds at birdfeeders. And especially he loves humans.

Once he was all well we bathed him. OH MY, he was surprised and glumly cooperative.

He is such a nice boy. And so soft! His fur is medium long though he is too young to see its real length. His eyes are greenish yellow which goes so well with his silver fur. His long body suggests he will be a big boy. Maine Coons grow into their third year first going slender long bodied and then filling out wider.

Quicksilver needs to go to a home with at least one other playful cat. He would probably be fine with gentle children. I don’t know about dogs. He will make someone a wonderful companion.

He eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

Quicksilver’s foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Contact Harriet at (831) 336-2983 or toharrietjane@comcast.net if you have questions, or send an Adoption Application. If you are unable to reach Harriet by phone or email, email us at Info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
