About Princess Mau (and Peter)

Adopted by Heather, Sean, Keri and Wade

Four kittens were born to Zoie, a beautiful recently adopted Egyptian Mau mix. Clearly Zoie was attracted to the big red tom cat in her neighborhood since three of her four kittens are red. Souzi , who has the darkest red color and Skyler, her almost twin brother, are posted to go home together.

Peter is a red kitten with longer, more plush fur than his siblings. He is very gentle but easily holds his own in play sessions. Peter absolutely LOVES to stand on his two feet like King Kong. It is so much fun to watch his excellent balance as he grabs for a feather over his head. He is bigger than his sister, Princess Mau, who is the smallest of the four. As a black spotted, silver girl she is the most like her mother, Zoie. Princess is smart as a whip and, a natural athlete, is all sinewy muscle and agility. Peter with his good-natured soft personality graciously defers to her and does not use his superior size to dominate her. Or perhaps she doesn’t allow it. A very loving cat rescuer cared for this litter of newborns before they came to me and she did a great job of turning them into total love bugs.

Egyptian Maus are a very ancient breed. They are the only naturally spotted domestic cat breed. Bengals, for example, have been carefully genetically bred to develop their beautiful spots and rosettes. Not so for Egyptian Maus who don’t need any help. These athletic cats also hold the world speed record for domestic cats – 30 mph. Maus are an unusually healthy Breed. These elegant kittens are mixes but their Egyptian Mau heritage gives them very desirable traits. As well as great beauty.

Peter and Princess need a home with room to run and play. They want the company of humans including all but very young children. Maus bond extra deeply with their family and get upset if their family isn’t loyal to them back. They are smart, devoted cats who often meet their humans at the front door. Peter and Princess need a family that has time for them in their lives. Time for love and play. I don’t know how they would be with dogs but “in charge” probably says it all.

These kittens have been very lovingly raised and some family will be so lucky to have their company and love.

Peter and Princess eat wet and dry food and are litterbox perfect.

Their foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Princess Mau is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Princess Mau (and Peter) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
