About Potato

~Born 04/16/04, M, Natural Mink Tonkinese

Potato is a stunning 13 year old Mink Tonkinese kitty with Diabetes. He lost his family when they moved away and couldn’t take him with them. He had been with his family since he was a kitten and was raised with 3 children. Potato recently developed diabetes which is easily managed by insulin twice daily.

Even though Potato had a big change in his life, he is still as loving as they come! Potato is used to being the center of attention. He has a big personality, is very vocal and he expects a response. You can certainly expect a bed partner as he loves to sleep under the covers and purr loudly when you scratch his chin. He loves his people and will shower you with affection, head bumps, and even groom your beard if you let him.

He is being fostered with two other cats and he gets along with them perfectly and sometimes even grooms them! He doesn’t seem to like dogs very much, but he just stays away from them. He loves climbing his cat tower, and feather toys don’t stand a chance!

The Tonkinese breed is popular as a companion cat because it is both a playful athlete and a loving, social lap cat. The breed was developed from the Siamese and the Burmese breeds.

Please don’t overlook this handsome Aristo-cat because of his special needs. He is neutered, litter box perfect, current on vaccinations, weighs about 11 lbs., FeLV/FIV negative. He’s ready and eager to go to his new home and and shower you with love.

Potato is fostered in El Cerrito. If you would like more information about Potato, please contact Erika at erikahoyle@gmail.com, or call 415.690.9239 or send an Adoption Application. If you are unable to reach Erika by phone or email, email us at Info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
