Born ~11/15/2018, F, Black Turkish Angora Mix
Turkish Angoras have soft silky coats that rarely mat and require combing only once or twice a week. Most likely they originated in the mountain regions of Turkey, where they developed unusually soft, medium-long coats for protection from the harsh winters. They are graceful, energetic and extremely smart and adaptable cats. They are considered national treasures in Turkey.
While white Turkish Angoras are still very popular today, breeders are focusing on breeding colored Turkish Angoras. They are beautiful lithe felines that are gorgeous in other colors as well.
Pollyanna is a polydactyl, which means she has extra toes on each of her front paws. Sailors believed polydactyl cats brought good luck because they were good hunters and their big paws provided more traction during rough seas. She is quite the character and always kneads with her front paws, even if she is just standing looking at you while you are talking to her. She also meows quietly in response to your conversation.
Polly has had a lonely, tough time for the last year or so. She was trapped in a residential neighborhood in San Jose. A trapper had talked with neighbors hoping to find her owners as she was not microchipped. One neighbor said she was owned by someone down the street, but they moved away and left her outside some time ago. So she has been all alone with a few neighbors feeding her. When she was trapped she had kittens which have been socialized and placed in adoptive homes. So now she loves other cats, but takes some time to trust humans. She has been with her foster mom for two months and now is very trusting of her and her adult son. She will definitely need someone patient to take the time to gain her trust and play with her. She loves playing with wand toys, especially if they have a feather on the end. She is so happy to jump and chase it if you are moving it around. She also amuses herself with balls and catnip mice. She loves scratching posts with sisal rope and enjoys sitting on the top shelf. She would love the company of a calm friendly cat to share her life or a human who is around most of the time.
Are you the one to add this treasure to your home? She is an exquisite cat!
Pollyanna is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She currently lives with her foster family in Carmichael.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
