About Obie

Adopted by Suzanne & Jonny

Born ~2/19, M, Seal-Point Ragdoll

Extra loving, curious, supportive and playful all perfectly describe Obie, but it’s hard to choose just one. Obie came to us at just 3 weeks old, confused, scared and missing his mom terribly. He and his littermates came from a Ragdoll breeder who had passed away unexpectedly. While it was traumatic for this little boy, he quickly adjusted to his new home and blossomed into an exuberant young kitten. Obie is full of love and loves to play and purr. He purrs as soon as you walk into a room, sitting next to you and walking with you! He is a beautiful seal point with chocolate brown points and enchantingly, piercing blue eyes. He is one big happy face in essence!

Obie can be very active and truly enjoys his playtime. He can make a toy out of just about anything from a tiny piece of paper to an extra-large dog ball. At the moment his favorite is a spring toy and a flexible kitty tunnel. He uses the tunnel as the kitten version of a trampoline. Once playtime is over, Obie loves sitting nearby or in your lap getting gentle pets. He likes to greet you at the door and escort you to your preferred spots. Obie greets you with lots of “hellos” and likes to show you how much he loves you by rubbing up against you, and for those days that aren’t so great, he likes to offer comfort and support with head bobs and gentle nose touches. Obie can be talkative for very short periods when it’s time for a meal or he really wants to be with you but it’s not excessive.

Obie’s foster family has all sorts of other furry creatures he gets along with, even the Border Collie Gracie so a family with another playful and loving kitty maybe best.

His beautiful medium length coat is very silky and is easy to maintain it with grooming approximately twice a week but doesn’t like to sit still for too long at the moment so short grooming sessions work a bit better.

As Ragdolls have a tendency to be emotionally sensitive, and change can be extra tough on them, we think Obie would flourish with a family who has a relatively stable home. A family that wouldn’t mind a relaxed though playful close companion and supervisor.

Obie is up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and uses his litter box perfectly. He has a fairly simple diet of both canned and dry food and loves the occasional treat too, though he would eat them in exchange of real food.

Obie currently lives with his foster family in Sacramento. If you are looking for a best friend, a companion, personal assistant, a truly emotional support and willing to give him as much love as he will provide, he would love to have you as his forever family!
