Nyah, which means Purpose of Life, got her name from her caretaker because this sweet kitty really had an adventurous life with a purpose in it. Some parts were rather sad and her caretaker hopes that the remainder of her life will have a happy ending! She deserves it because she is so very sweet and just loves humans.
Nyah is a Greek kitty. Aegean kitties are natural occurring cats that originated from the Cycladic Island of Greece. Nyah has a plush blue and white coat and beautiful copper eyes. She used to belong to a Greek couple. The husband was a professor at UC Merced. They had an old dog and Nyah, the Aegean kitty. After living here for about a year, the husband was offered a job in Australia and the University was willing to pay for bringing their pets to Australia. Australia has strict rules for bringing pets into the country, and unfortunately Nyah’ original owners had missed giving her a shot the year before, so they could not take her with them. They were able to take their dog, in case you are wondering.
They left Nyah with a couple they knew. It turns out that these folks where not animal loving people. One day Nyah’s caretaker found out the couple left the apartment complex and left Nyah behind in the streets to fend for herself. Unfortunately there are heartless and ignorant people in this world that don’t want to make an effort to help find an innocent and defenseless little cat a new caring home.
One day her caretaker noticed her outside. Since she had several cats herself, she wasn’t able to bring her into her home, but has been taking care of Nyah by feeding her, getting her cleaned up, and updated all of her shots. She found a temporary foster home for Nyah. This healthy girl would love nothing more than being able to find a home where she can be kept safely inside and love on her new human. She is accepting of other kitties and she really likes small dogs.
She followed her caretaker everywhere when she took her dog out for a walk. She wants to sleep next to her human and will follow you around. She talks back to you when you call her or talk to her. She is perfect in that she doesn’t scratch anything and always uses her litterbox.
Please help us find this little Greek beauty a happy, caring home where she can be treasured for the special kitty that she is. She is more beautiful than her pictures do her justice.
