7 year old, M, Blue Point Siamese
Due to health issues Mr. Wicket’s current owner asked our organization for assistance with finding this studly boy a new home. The owner describes him as an engaging cat that acts more like a dog in that he wants to please his owner. Mr. Wicket wants to be brushed, stroked and looks his human in the eye to non-verbally communicate with him. If you are lucky enough to own him he is not a cat that likes to spend all day by himself. He would rather be with the family in the same room than by himself, which is very typical of this wonderful and human connected breed.
Mr. Wicket is a smart cat and learns quickly. He will shake hands for a treat, sit on command and jump onto a high surface if commanded, especially if there are treats involved. His current owner feels that this handsome cat has more potential than he has time to give him and would like to see him in a new home with more patience people than he is.
In the interest of full disclose, apparently Mr. Wicket seems to be a bit of a foodie. There…the cat is out of the bag! This handsome fella needs a cat lover who is okay with their feline companion coming around in the early morning for his feeding. From the notes provided by the current owner, free feeding is not an option for this boy. He’d gorge himself only to toss his food right afterwards. So if you are a kitty whisperer who doesn’t mind spending time retraining your kitty with appropriate eating habits, Mr. Wicket is your little man.
A note from the PPCR volunteer who is posting this information: I too have a very opinionated and food loving Siamese boy who LOVES his high quality wet food. He too eats very fast (perhaps a Siamese trait?) and will toss his food if I put too much in his bowl all at once. I have learned that I need to slightly warm up his food if it comes right out of the refrigerator and that I need to give him about 15 minutes between feeding him 2 smaller portions. None of my other kitties have this issue.
Mr. Wicket gets along fine with the owner’s two female cats and a small dog. He doesn’t seem to care for big dogs.
Due to financial reasons he is currently on dry food only, which really needs to be supplemented with quality wet food. He weighs in at 20 lbs.
He uses his litterbox without issues.
If you love the engaging Siamese breed, please consider giving this feline stud muffin a permanent home. Contact Frauke at 925-784-8244 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org and submit an Adoption Application.
Please note that Mr. Wicket is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with his current owner in Vacaville, CA while being placed in his permanent home.
