Adopted by Trudy & Ted K.
Before she came to foster with us two bad things happened this little tuxedo kitty named Misty. She was a child bride when she lost her first small litter of kittens. And second, somehow something sharp had pierced her right eye, maybe another playful kitten’s claw. Missing her kittens we hoped she would care for a motherless litter of kittens we took in . We crossed our fingers that she would be able to nurse them but her milk had dried up. Misty did however work hard bathing them and pulled those little wanderers back into bed with her to keep them warm. Chicklet was the smallest of those kittens and grew up slowly. They ultimately became best of friends.
Misty’s favorite thing, after catnip, is tummy rubs. If she knows you and trusts you she will roll on her back and go into ecstasies as you rub her soft tummy. She is a social girl who wants to follow you around and involve herself in everything you do.There is a big difference for her between folks she knows and folks she doesn’t know. She can be startled by someone new whose hand reaches for her too quickly, or a door slamming. She hates my camera and will run under a sofa. We have watched this skittishness is decrease as her confidence grows. She loves attention but prefers to have her feet on the floor or couch. Misty, like most Maine Coons, is a real character and a quite a quirky comedienne. She, with her BBF, Chicklet, will be wonderful entertaining companions for some lucky family.
This little darling needs a new name. She came to us named Misty and who names a vivid Black and White cat Misty? Nonsense. Any suggestions?
Misty eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.
Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
