About Miss Snow
Born ~2011, F, White Persian
Adoption Fee: $300
Well, where do you begin with this story? The last picture below shows how she looked the day we got her. ( ! ) She was brought to a shelter by a cat lover who heard she was wandering around a shabby trailer park. Neighbors said her mom had died and some man had come right away and towed the trailer away, dumping her out on the ground in the process.
Okay bad start. The shelter manager knew I adored Persians and sent me an email saying I could have her after a five day hold. So it was a horrible time for her losing her mom, her home, being suddenly outside, and being in a shelter. This is not how an adorable little Persian girl should be pampered. Miss Snow was clearly dusty dirty especially on her feet but her whole coat was in long term bad condition. How ill was her mom before she died? Was she failing and unable to care properly for her kitty? We will never know.
We found Miss Snow to be quite a confident kitty, a bit stricken, but essentially a good little girl. We fussed with her a little when she arrived, so eager were we to pull off burrs and little knots of fur. We washed her face and did not do more so as not to really annoy her. Of course we fell madly in love with her. She is a good natured darling, very cuddly and affectionate. I combed the top of her head which though the hair was short was all matted. Suddenly her head looked very different like a cute little Persian girl head’s should and we noticed for the first time her golden cheeks. She is a white Persian with light watery blue eyes. Blue eyed white Persians are rare but well known. They are often deaf though she is not.
A caring vet found her faint spay scar and noted her absence of all front and canine teeth ( ? ). She found no heart murmur and said her kidneys felt fine but were a little small as one would expect in an older kitty. She guessed she was about 10-12 so I have put her age as 11. A blood panel has found her to be entirely healthy. All good news.
We are still slowly getting all the knots off her. We are down to her legs and feet – the area cats like fussing with the least. When that is finished we will bathe her. Bathing tightens matts so it has to come last.
She seems comfortable with other cats. I have no idea how she is with dogs. She is a love bug for sure and will train you to follow her every wish. For that she will give you her heart. If you know Persians you know how hard they work to make you feel loved. Some family will be so lucky.
Miss Snow is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
