About Minou (and Remy)

Adopted by Stephanie and Chris

Remy and Minou MUST be adopted together. There are NO exceptions. See Remy here.

I doubt the shelter believed that these two were found “walking down the sidewalk” in their town. I certainly don’t believe it. These are young, healthy, well-groomed Persians. Persians don’t belong outside- the fur attracts every burr and twig. They arrived very stressed and frightened.

Persians are specialists in giving and receiving love. They are vulnerable little kitties that must be protected and treasured all their life. Their love for their human is very intimate. Persians are not wash and wear kitties- they need extra care from their family, their faces washed, their coats brushed, and their medical needs checked. Give them your love, and they will utterly give you the precious gift of their soft hearts and soft paws.

How did these two end up in the shelter? One clue is that both were not fixed, and Minou’s nipples show that she has nursed kittens. Did someone think to have a breeding pair and found it was more work than expected? Both have the much prized and rare copper eyes. Is Remy Minou’s son? Her mate? Her brother or relative? We don’t know. It is clear that they are very companionable and do not want to be separated and must go home together.

As is common with many Persians, Remy has a heart murmur. It is only a three out of six, and in all stethoscope positions except one, it cannot be heard. It is called a single-source murmur. He did fine when we neutered him, and he seems utterly healthy. I had a little Persian with a similar murmur, and an electrocardiogram showed she had a valve that closed a little early, creating the sound but causing no trouble. There are different kinds of murmurs.

It is impossible to take a bad photo of Remy. The camera loves him and his wonderful, saturated red color. Minou is a beautiful, sweet, gentle, and silky soft girl who has no wish to be a movie star and scowls at the camera. Don’t be deceived; she is a darling. Look carefully- both have such wonderful furry paws.

I don’t know how they would be with dogs, but they are cat friendly to non-dominant cats. They would be good family cats with older children but not with young noisy ones. Remy and Minou want a quiet, safe, peaceful home with humans who are around a lot of the time. These cats are not suitable for people who work out of the house most of the time.

Some family will be so lucky to have their loving hearts and adorable company.

Adoption preferences will be given to those with Persian cat experience.

Minou is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pets and create an ideal forever home.

If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Minou and Remy, please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com. If you are unable to reach Harriet, please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.

NOTE: We prefer families with children to bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
