About Dayna from Sacramento Valley
Hello, I’m Dayna, and this is a picture of Breyers, my sweet “foster keeper” kitty, and my first special needs foster who taught me the power of perseverance! Breyers’ story is proof that when you don’t give up, anything is possible. For me, that journey started five years ago with my first foster. Today, I’m a proud foster mom and serve as the Secretary on the Board for PPCR, where we work to give our kitties a chance at a better life.
Why I Volunteer at PPCR
I chose to volunteer at PPCR because this group truly goes the extra mile. Each kitty here is more than a number—they’re part of our family, and we pour our hearts into giving them the best care possible.
What I’ve Learned
Working with special needs cats turned out to be so much easier than I expected! Every day, I get the chance to expand my skills and connect on a deeper level with these remarkable cats. They may have challenges, but they’re filled with love and resilience, and I get to help them flourish.
Compassion in Action
For me, compassion isn’t just about having a kind heart—it’s about taking action. Whether it’s fostering, volunteering, donating, or simply sharing, every effort matters. At PPCR, we rally together to support the cats who need us most, and we never give up on them. These animals often come to us facing difficult odds, but seeing them thrive with our care reminds me of why I do this work.
The Inspiration Around Me
I’m constantly inspired by other fosters and volunteers who step up for cats others might overlook. Watching them take that chance is incredibly heartwarming, and it reminds me that together, we can make an amazing impact.
