Maserati, affectionately called Masi, is a big beautiful neutered black Persian with big luminous amber eyes. He has lived with his timid little half sister since they were kittens. They were from a Persian breeder/kitten mill, which was not the best circumstance in their formative young lives. Masi to this day has a fear of foil and grocery bags which were used for making noises to discipline the kittens. When they came to their new home they were not accustomed to common household sounds. The sound of popcorn popping and the Vacuum still scares them. Masi will run away if a soft kitty toy ball unexpectedly hits him in the head during play, or if he needs help to release his claws from the scratching post.
Masi has become increasingly more aggressive toward his sister, causing her to stay hidden. It is for this reason his owner’s Veterinarian has recommended re-homing for him as an only cat; suggesting that Masi will adjust easier to a new home than his timid sister. It has been a very difficult decision for his owners after 4 years of loving him.
Maserati isn’t a typical Persian in that he is a high energy cat. During waking hours he enjoys lots of attention and loves to be with his people. He is a busy boy, moving constantly; vocalizes with trills, chirrups, meows inviting an interactive conversation and then gets the ‘zoomies’ racing around the house. He loves to play with his soft ball on a string, chasing feather toys, oversized hair ties, bubbles, and toys with calming herbs, likes to play fetch, sits up for treats and loves his favorite food. He is a good eater preferring his scheduled am and pm feedings of Stella & Chewy Freeze Dried Raw placed dry on a plate moistened with water. He enjoys both Turkey and Chicken. He does not like dry kibble. Masi drinks plenty of water, fresh please, from his kitty water fountain or the sink. He likes to sleep on his cat tree, in a window and in bed with his owners.
Like most Persians with long luxurious coats, he needs regular maintenance. Masi is accustomed to a mobile professional pet groomer, and receives a Lion cut three times a year to keep his fine velvety fluffy high maintenance coat free from matting. He will need to be combed in between these visits.
Maserati is litter box perfect, loves his cat tree, special blanket, and uses his scratching post and cat scratching boxes. Masi’s owners feel the ideal environment for him would be indoor only with older mature people who are home most of the time and have no children or other pets.
