About Mary Teresa

Born ~2009, F, Lilac Point Sphynx Declawed

The Sphynx. It sounds so regal, so mysterious, so intimidating.

I’m a natural performer and won’t hesitate to show off whenever I have even a semblance of an audience. I’ll chase, pounce, jump, and scale the highest of heights. Then I’ll be right back by my human’s side, showering him or her with very public displays of affection.

That’s ’cause I’m a very sociable cat who loves the company of humans and even other pets. I love my humans so much, in fact, that I’ll spend much of my day following them around, wagging my tail and purring with unabashed affection.

Never one to shy away from being adored, I am ready and willing to receive petting sessions, belly rubs, scratches and warm laps from anyone who offers

So what are you waiting for my sister Princess and I are waiting for someone just like you to take us home. We have to go together since we just love each other way to much to be split up! I know we will keep you entertained and promise to love you forever! Call now!

We think she’s too cute for words with those big bat ears and pretty round Blue eyes. She is loving, playful, curious and does well with the resident cats. She enjoys the heating pad but we think her favorite thing is hanging with her humans and her sister. It’s obvious that she was a very loved and pampered girl at one time. You may ask how she came into rescue. Her family had to move and were unable to continue to care for them. They came to us declawed on all 4 paws. Purebreds Purebreds stepped up to care for these girls and find them a forever home.

We prefer a home with Sphynx experience. They do have special care and needs that are ongoing. Mary Teresa has to be adopted with her sister Princess, no exceptions.

Mary Teresa will come to you spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Mary Teresa is fostered in Elk Grove, CA

We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fir for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest.

About the Sphynx Breed

Sphynx have wonderful personalities. They are very lovable, affectionate and social cats. They love to be in the middle of whatever you are doing. Even though Sphynx are considered “hairless” cats, this is not always true. They can have some fuzz – similar to peach fuzz on their bodies. This can come and go throughout their life.

Sphynx need to be bathed. They produce oil on their skin and because there is no hair – the oil has no where to go. So they need to be bathed at least once a least every 2 weeks, if not more.

Eyes should be wiped with a wet cloth as needed. Because there are no eyelashes the tears that are normally produced can collect in the eyes. If not cleaned it can leave an orange or black tear stain.

As far as temperature goes, if you are comfortable in most cases your Sphynx will be comfortable. It is always recommended that there is a blanket and/or warm spot the cat/kitten can snuggle into if it is cold.

Sphynx should be an indoor cat only. Due to the hairlessness, they can freeze and sunburn very quickly.
