About Lucien the Third

Adopted by Therese & Ken
Born ~2014, M, Chocolate Ocicat
Special Fee $275

An Ocicat breeder had age and health problems and needed help as she approached the end of her life. In December Purebreds took into foster her 4 adult cats. Three of those were males. These kitties arrived really quite stressed out. The last months of their life in their home had not gone well. Of these males Lucien the Third, now neutered, is the first to be posted for adoption. He was the most mellow and outgoing kitty right from the start.

As he has come to know his foster parents Lucien has shown himself to be a very affectionate cat. He needs a few minutes to accept humans he doesn’t know but for example, by the end of his photo session today he was rubbing up against the photographer.

He is a great, beautiful cat. Ocicats with their spotted coats are bred to resemble cats in the wild especially the spotted Ocelots. Ocicats do not however have any wild cat blood in them. They are simply beautiful domestic cats bred from Abyssinian and Siamese and American Shorthairs to resemble wild cats.

These kitties tend to be very devoted to their owners. Doglike they will follow you around. Many are leash trained. These are fairly large cats, muscular and athletic and very playful. They are very active and mischievous. They do NOT do well alone and need another cat companion or dog to keep them company. Lucien could be adopted with one of my two other Ocicat males who are shy and not yet being posted. However the companion cat does not need to be an Ocicat. A bored and lonely Ocicat can find great fun playing with your home furnishings, if you know what I mean. These very social cats are generally good family cats.

Lucien eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect.

His foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
