About Lori
Adopted by Ellena S.
Are you looking for a little lovebug kitty? One who will so appreciate your loving hands and loving heart? Lori will lean into your hands and rub her head on your cheek. If you pet her as she sits on your lap, sometimes she will become so emotional and moved that she extends out the tip of her little pink tongue and maybe even drools a drop to show her pleasure and contentment.
Her family adopted her as a kitten in 2016 and brought her back to the San Jose shelter this summer. I don’t know for sure but I would guess they were concerned about her bare neck and the irritated skin on her body. If they had taken her to their vet they would probably have learned that she had a serious flea allergy. That is what my vet said and, skeptical, I asked, “Have you ever seen a cat with such a bare neck simply due to fleas?” “Yes,” she said. And she was right.
With some flea medicine and some time to regrow her fluffy fur she is all back to normal. I wish all troubles could be so easily solved.
So here is Lori – a young, healthy, sweetheart looking for someone who wants her loving company. She is an easy cat, a great little companion.
She does everything right and has no worrisome characteristics. Well, there is one thing I should mention. She wants to be the only cat in the home. I don’t know how she is with dogs but I do know she wants all the cat attention from her human(s) so she must not go to a home with other cats. She is serious about this. She would probably be fine with older children but the most logical home for her is to be the companion of one or two humans who need her sweet companionship and warmth.
Lori eats wet and dry food and is litterbox perfect. She is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped. Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
