About Lily

Adopted by Kristen

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat though our Owner Placement Program.  We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat.  It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Lily is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with her current owner in Placerville. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

Lily “Angelina” is a gorgeous purebred Ragdoll from an Auburn, CA breeder.
The daughter of her owner is facilitating her adoption and says this about her:

She came to live with my mother in 2011 after living in a home with two other cats who bullied her mercilessly. Lily is affectionate and talkative when comfortable, sashaying out to make the rounds and presenting her backside and tummy for petting with people she knows. Shy at first, Lily will hide under the bed, in the closet or in her carrier when she’s unsure. It took a few weeks for her to become fully integrated into my mother’s home. Lily loves to cuddle on the couch, on the bed or even under the covers and could be found every night with my mom on her recliner watching TV. Lily’s favorite game is “making the bed” in which she “hides” under the sheets.

She needs to be in a childless home where she’s the only animal so that she can rule the roost and be the center of the universe. Although, Lily is curious about, and even tolerates, the sniffing of our Lab, and is quite well behaved around our respectful grandchildren. At age ten, Lily sleeps more during the day, but enjoys making the rounds periodically.

The decision to re-home Lily has been a very difficult one to make. My elderly mother, who lives independently, is finding it harder and harder to bend over to scoop her litter box. Also, she is having a difficulty “reading” Lily’s feline signals and managing her behaviors. In light of my mother’s advancing age, Lily has decided that she is the alpha in the relationship and has bitten and nipped a few times.

Lily needs experienced cat-people who understand and can manage “persnickety” kitty behaviors. She has a tendency to overstimulate and communicates when she has had enough petting. She might occasionally nip at your ankles if she doesn’t feel she’s getting proper attention but can be easily redirected. Her current health is good as evidenced by recent blood work last spring. Vet records are available. She takes Laxitone for hairballs. She prefers Dr. Elsey’s litter. She’s also been to the vets for nail trim and sani-cut, for which she needs to be sedated. (The groomer has been successful at grooming and trimming nails, without sedation) She has always been an indoor cat. Lily has several scratching posts and will use them. All scratching toys, cat stroller, carrier, perches and toys come with, as desired by new owner.

Lily is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, microchipped, eats wet food, eats dry food, and is litterbox perfect.

The standard adoption fee of $175 applies.

She currently lives with her owner in Placerville.

Purebreds Plus Cat rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
