About Lacey

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat though our owner placement program.  We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat.  It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.  Lacey is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with her current owner in Concord, CA. Adoption fee applies. Find out more about Owner Placement Cats.

Sweet Lacey was adopted as a young kitten from a rescue with her littermate brother who passed away when she was 5 years old.  She was very fond of him and may possibly get along with another non aggressive friendly cat.  Her family has become full of activity over the course of the past 6 years with the addition of a child, a puppy and another baby expected soon. Lacey is a sweet shy kitty that remains secluded during the hours that her now busy household is bustling with activity.  She does not like to be near the family’s high energy dog, which poses no danger to Lacey, just  tries to play with her which is stressing her out and contributing to anxiety induced timidness.  She emerges in the evenings for cuddles, loves and playtime with the adults in the quiet hours of the household. She sleeps on the back of the couch or under the bed; she used to sleep on their bed with them at night before the dog became part of the family.

It has become apparent that Lacey will be much happier in a calm quieter home preferably with adults. So the difficult and heartfelt decision has been made to seek a happier lifestyle for dear Lacey.   She may possibly adapt to being with kind, gentle children 10 years and older.   Lacey does okay being alone during the daytime hours.  She is a non-aggressive, lovely, friendly, affectionate, adorable, fun cat that is talkative using cute chirps for conversation with her people.

Her owner says this about her:   “Lacey is very sweet, but very shy and timid. We have had her since she was a kitten, adopted her from a rescue at Pet Food Express at 12 weeks old. She has always been shy, but will come out in a calm environment, so she would do best in an adult only household with no dogs, perhaps no other pets. We did adopt her with a litter mate, but her brother passed away due to health issues a couple years ago. She enjoyed life with him, so I think she would be okay with another cats. She does not have any current health issues, she uses her litter box and is very clean. She is spunky, and likes to play, and she enjoys one on one attention, as long as she feels the environment is safe.”

Lacey occasionally uses both vertical and horizontal scratching post and pads, is spayed, is litter box perfect and is accustomed to open feedings of dry urinary care formula which was used after she had a Urinary Tract Infection and has continued with it because she likes it so much.   She weighs 13 lbs. and prefers to be a ‘grazer’.    Lacey very much enjoys her coat being brushed 2 or 3 times a week.  The ideal adopter(s) would be able to offer a loving quiet environment, continued healthy diet, interactive playtime with her favorite strings and toys which she loves to chase and provide the grooming she enjoys to keep her luxurious coat mat free.
