Born 2015, M, Brown and Black Spotted, Bengal
Kona has had quite some changes in his young life. He’s been bounced around a bit but you wouldn’t really know it since he is just how you would expect a young, strapping male Bengal to be – full of life and full of vigor.
His original owner was a man who couldn’t keep him. We don’t really know the whole history. The original owner may have come to realize that owning a smart Bengal takes a lot of commitment and time, and is quite different than having a more docile and laid back cat. Kona went to a couple of different homes and eventually was taken in by a very kind lady who knew he needed to be rescued and he needed stability. This lady typically has docile little kitties, such as Burmese and Persians. She was not quite prepared for such an engaging, energetic, vocal and active little kitty man as Kona turned out to be.
She contacted our rescue organization and asked if we can take Kona into foster care. We found someone who agreed to take him. Foster mom had thought that if Kona and her own Bengal boy could learn to live harmoniously together, she was going to keep him. However, Kona, although he plays with her Bengal, seems to be an alpha male and may even prefer to have his human and his space all to himself.
Our mission is to find Kona a permanent and perfect home. His ideal home is with someone who has either had Bengal cats before and understands this fascinating breed or who has done a whole lot of research about this breed. Kona needs someone who can spend a lot of time with him. He is very smart, he is very curious, and he is trainable. He is also very friendly and enjoys being petted. He has been harness trained and enjoys going for walks. He may benefit from having a canine companion – we are just not so sure if he should be paired up with another Bengal cat.
Someone will be very lucky to adopt this entertaining and engaging boy.
Kona is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.
