About Kelly (and Grace)
Born ~10/2021, F, Classic Tabby Maine Coon/DSH mix
Adoption Fee: $300 for the pair
Kelly and Grace MUST be adopted together. There are NO exceptions. See Grace here.
I know, Grace and Kelly do not look like sisters. At first glance. But they are sisters and as you look closer you can see the similarities. Their father was a great long-bodied Classic Tabby Maine Coon. We see the “Mackerel Tabbies” most often, they are the striped tabbies that come in all colors. “Classic Tabbies” refer to the ones with the dramatic, swirled marbled patterns This is what Kelly is and actually Grace is also. ( “No!,” you say. )
Grace with her green eyes and silky, silver fur might be called a Russian Blue mix kitty. However, look closely at her photos. In a certain light, you can see a ghost copy of the classic tabby marble markings in her silver fur. I have never seen this phenomenon before in a solid-colored kitty. Look carefully, Grace has hidden markings very similar to her sister. Both kittens also have pronounced ear tufts. Both have soft silky fur that lays flat along the body on the back instead of standing fluffed up.
Kelly inherited the ultra-long body of her father. Look at her long legs, body, and tail. She walks over her smaller sister. The fluffy spotted hair on her tummy has been shaved off for her spay making her look a bit skinny which she is not. (The same is true for Grace.) She is the confident adventurer of the two. Kelly is very affectionate with humans but exploring the world is her special love right now.
Grace is a special cuddler with humans and she will ultimately drool a couple of drops to show her pleasure. It is a delight to pet her soft silky fur as she puts her head in your hand. You can’t take a bad photo of Kelly who regally poses naturally. It is hard to get a good photo of Grace who dislikes the whole process and looks regally annoyed.
These two kittens complement each other. They comfort each other. Watching them interact you can see them check in with each other with a look or a touch. It is wonderful. They are very special bonded sisters.
They came from a Central Valley shelter where it is dangerous not to have a home so they were transported to Santa Cruz and what fun it was to meet such a unique pair. Some family will be so lucky. Grace and Kelly could fit in all sorts of situations as companions to a family, or a couple, or a single adopter. I don’t know how they would be with dogs though I would guess they would probably be fine after a careful introduction. These are good-natured, easy kittens.
Grace and Kelly eat wet and dry food and are litterbox perfect.
Kelly is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, and microchipped.
She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Kelly (and Grace) please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
