About Keena
Born ~ July 2016, Female, Tawny Spotted Occicat
Our Ocicat kittens in foster care were taken into rescue from a breeder in Southern California who was in poor health. We agreed to take in these beautiful kittens and find them loving, inside homes. They came to us frightened, not people-oriented and very thin. But they LOVE the resident cats in their foster homes. They quickly bonded with the adults, who showed them the ropes and groomed and played with them.
The foster mom would like Keena who is very shy to go home with her much more confident sister Kenza who is also posted to the website. They need to go to an experienced cat owner who will continue to work with them and give them a calm and secure environment. Keena is the shyest of all the girls so needs extra time to unfold.
She has come a long way and is very treat motivated. She has the most gorgeous coat of spots and soft sleek coat. She loves her tunnel toys and toys that have balls that she can turn and twirl around. She will now come on the bed at night and sleep at the foot of the bed. Progress!
Ocicats are are high-energy cats and you should plan to spend more time playing with them than you might think! As one breeder says, “Prepare your house for a two-year old. They cannot be alone.” http://cfa.org/Breeds/BreedsKthruR/Ocicat.aspx
Keena and Kenza would not do well with small children and have not been around dogs.
Keena is fostered in Davis, CA

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interest!
