9 Years & Up, Available, Persian
Born 5/2/2009, F, Blue Cream Persian
Katie is quite a quirky character. She was given up on by her previous caretakers and ended up with us in rescue. She had a urinary tract infection that was treated and is all cleared up now. She does still continue to have some interesting potty habits though. She just prefers porcelain to kitty litter and uses her foster mom’s shower as her litter box. We have tried different kinds of litter and feliway diffusers to no avail so we’re considering starting her on fluoxetine, basically Prozac for kitties that helps with litter box issues. We will keep trying but for now, at least the shower is very easy to clean!
The most special thing about Katie is that she is a hugger, she loves to be held against your chest, she will turn and face you then she’ll wrap a paw around each side of your neck, lean in to press her check against yours and she hugs. Just melts your heart. She has a wonderful purr and shows her human how much love she has to give. She would love to be a lap kitty too.
Katie is not fond of other cats, she prefers to be the one and only, and who knows – maybe her potty habits will improve! She also isn’t really into dogs although she does tolerate the resident Papillion. Katie loves to eat and has the belly to show it, she is a solid, round armful. She’s not a big fan of wet food though so just keep her dry food bowl full and she’s happy. She was severely matted and has been shaved so you can really see that round belly now! Katie just wants a peaceful, quiet home where she can give hugs all day long.
Katie is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, and eats dry food.
She currently lives with her foster family in Placerville.
Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home.
If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Katie please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Jennifer at firstname.lastname@example.org If you are unable to reach Jennifer please email us at email@example.com.
NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone’s best interests!
