About Josie
Born ~4/2016, F, Brown & Black Tabby Maine Coon Mix
Want loving? Want a cat who just loves to have your company and affection? Josie is a remarkable cat. She is a big soft fluffy girl; her fur is like a plush toy. She loves to be touched and it makes her so happy. You may find yourself love bombed. Josie has banded legs, the tabby “M” above her eyes, wonderful black foot pads and a body pattern that sometimes looks striped and sometimes looks spotted. Her eyes are very green.
She is a lovely natured cat, such a good, nice girl. She has been in foster a long time without being posted for adoption partly because it is very hard to let her go, we love her and her siblings. The other part of this slowness is due to an allergy she has. It took us quite a while to figure out that her itchy skin was actually due to an acute allergy to chicken (and also duck). We had thought it was an acute sensitivity to fleas or something environmental like bleach or any of a number of other things. Now we know it is chicken and with the exclusion of that from her diet she has gotten to be so healthy and is no longer itchy at all. Josie’s preferred food is a limited ingredient diet of Natural Balance Brand Venison. I would suggest she stay on this food, wet and dry. I might add Josie loves to drink from a sink fountain.
This girl is cat friendly and would be happy to have a companion. Other cats would need to be fed separately or all fed the food that is good for her. She has never been around dogs so I don’t know how she would do – she would probably be fine with friendly dogs. She is very close to her siblings. Rufus, who is a magnificent red tabby and Miss Congeniality, a brown tabby must go home together and are also posted. These two kitties have huge fluffy tails which CURL in a corkscrew like a Corgi dog’s tail. The fourth, a sister named Snuggles, is a wonderfully crosseyed tortie, who will be posted soon too. Josie would be happy to go home with Snuggles. These four siblings are very strongly bonded together. These are a very unusual litter of wonderful kitties.
Some family will be so lucky.
